Srimad Valmiki Ramayana is a well known holy epic which confers welfare and prosperity to the devotees who either read or listen to it. Repeated reading of the entire epic consisting of 24000 slokas 125 times devotionally and at the end of each reading performing Coronation of Sri Rama every time is known as MAHA SAMRAJYA PATTABISHEKAM (the grand coronation of the great empire)
This Procedure is explained in the Skanda Purana while dealing with the glory of Srimad Ramayanam. As a part of this Procedure, the Homam (Havan) known as Rama Sadakshari Homam (Havan) is performed to confer all the welfare and prosperity to all participants. The benefit of such performance is further explained there, as resulting in all good benefits. Righteousness will prevail. Success will result in all the efforts. The country will get bountiful and adequate rains, thereby augmenting agricultural prosperity.
